Coera is the name of the Earth, of the god-mind who is the Earth. She was stillborn of Baod; that is to say she was born still, but not dead. All of the stories revolve around the most precious children of Coera – mankind – and their role in unworking the crimes of Baod.
Over time, as ages pass, names change. Who was called Coera by the godlings before Floods and Plagues and Beasts and War is now called Gohira by the esoterics, and will be called Ohida by the followers of the Angels of the Apocalypse.
When you see any of these three names – Coera, Gohira, or Ohida – they mean “Earth”. Coera generally refers to the past, Gohira to the present, and Ohida to the future.
Etymological Evolution:
- Coera is the name given to the goddess pulled from the heart of Baod.
- Cohira
- Gohira is the secret name known to the Ancients of the Duckworks.
- ‘Ohira
- Ohida is name of the Earth given to people by the Angels when Heaven Descends.
Not too convinced as to what you implied to be the meaning of ohida.
Wow – my first real comment!
“Ohida”, like “Coera” and “Gohira” are just proper names for the Earth, like Terra or Gaia, though in my mythology they are the more proper names. Ohida is the name that wil be given to the earth in the stories that take place in the future.
very nice summary of the stories
