Welcome to the Coerablog.
Unlike most of the other blogs you’ll come across, this is not a diary or journal, political or religious introspection, or photoalbum. The chronological order of the posts has very little importance. I’ll talk very little about myself.
The Coerablog is my public workspace, where I’m busy constructing a new mythological cycle. You’ll find drawings, notes, snippets of stories, and even complete works as they’re finished. I’m not working in any particular order – the mosaic takes shape slowly, as random pieces pop out of my noggin. Doubtless much of it is derivative or topical, but I feel that puts me in good company.
The theme of the story, stretching from beginning to end, is one of renewal (a familiar topic in mythology) – it is the tale of the rebellion of Baod, beloved Mind-child of the Foundation god, Mehr. Motivated by a desire for fellowship with Mehr, Baod attempts to become like Mehr, but in so doing threatens to consume the existence of the countless other mind-children and their progeny. It is a tale of Mankind, special creation of Mehr, who blindly stumbles into their destiny of freeing Baod from the damnation he’s created. It is the tale of the children of Adam and Eva, who bear the Sisyphian task of undoing the schemes of Lilith – first wife of Adam, traitress, and Baod’s consort – who plots to hand Mankind to Baod and ensure his victory.
For a more in-depth summary, take a look at this page, or this timeline, if you’re brave. You might also want to read this before delving into some of the works in progress (link, link, link), finished work (link), or browsing through the categories in the right-nav.
If you’re still confused about this site, read this.
